About :

I’m a contemporary screen-print artist based in South London, working from my studio at Wimbledon Art Studios. I grew up on the South Coast, and it remains my biggest source of inspiration. I create expressive works that capture the movement, energy and atmosphere of the British landscape — from tidal harbours and racing yachts on the Solent to the quiet beauty of gardens and meadows.

Biography: I studied Art Foundation at Falmouth College of Art before earning a degree in Fashion Textiles, specialising in print design, at Winchester School of Art. After over a decade designing prints for the fashion industry, I became a full-time artist in 2023. Since then, I’ve exhibited my work at art fairs and galleries across the UK, including the Affordable Art Fair, OXMarket Contemporary and Chalk Gallery. My original screen prints, limited editions and commissions are held in private collections throughout the UK.

My Process:

I’ve always loved making things and working with my hands. My process combines painting and screen printing, allowing me to be expressive with colour while keeping the linework in my pieces crisp and defined.

Each artwork begins with a sketch of the scene, often drawn on location, which becomes the foundation of the piece.

I then paint the foreground elements, like the sea, boats, buildings, and greenery, directly onto the mesh of the screen. This technique is called ‘mono screen-printing’ and lets me build up the layers of colour before pushing the colour through the mesh of the screen and onto my canvas. I repeat this process until I am happy with the colour and feel of the piece.

Next, I screen print the sky in a solid block of colour to enhance contrast and bring balance to the composition. Finally, I add my hand-drawn line drawing as the top layer, screen printed to bring the detail to the scene.

I create up to five ‘Painted & Screen-print Variable Editions’ of each scene. While each one shares the same line drawing, the colours, brushwork, tides, seasons and mood vary — making every piece completely unique.
